Asia Term: Official Kick-Off Day in St.Gallen

On May 6th, the 2024 Asia Term cohort gathered together for the first time in St.Gallen to participate in the annual kick-off session for the programme. Students were excited to meet and mingle with their classmates with whom they will be spending an exciting four months w in Singapore from August 2024 onwards. 

Led by Prof. Dr. Stefan Morkoetter, Katharina Beckmann and Kimberly Maria Ng from the Asia Term Programme Management, the 61 Asia Term students were given an insightful introductory session to Singapore and what they could look forward during their time in Singapore. This was followed by a lunch session where students could network with each other and faculty members, discussing on all things relating to Singapore and the Asia Term. 

With full bellies and refreshed minds, the lunch session was then followed by a kick-off lecture conducted by Prof. Dr. Michael Hilb for the course, Business Development in Asia. Students were introduced to the perspectives of business development and the importance of viewing such perspectives in a cultural (particularly Asian) context. The kick-off day was concluded with a segment on important “practical information for the Asia Term” for students to keep in mind when preparing for their exchange in Singapore. At the end of the day, everyone left the session with anticipation and excitement for the semester to come, and we cannot wait to welcome this group of great and motivated students to the sunny shores of Singapore in August 2024.
