In July 2026, 45 participants representing 22 nationalities joined the HSG Summer School in Switzerland. Organized by the St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia (SGI-HSG) and led by Professor Dr. Matthias Tietz, the two-week programme combined university-level teaching, applied group work, company visits, and cultural experiences across Eastern Switzerland, Zurich, Liechtenstein, and Schaffhausen.
Academic sessions at the University of St.Gallen covered entrepreneurship, finance, design thinking, operations, strategy, innovation management, and marketing. Working in international teams, participants developed entrepreneurial ideas, applied the concepts to practical challenges, and presented their progress in mid-term and final presentations. The programme connected classroom learning with first-hand insights from Bühler, Migros, Hilti, UBS, EMIL EGGER, Stadler, SFS Group, and IWC Schaffhausen. Additional visits to Schützengarten and the Lindt Home of Chocolate highlighted Swiss approaches to heritage, branding, craftsmanship, logistics, and operational excellence.
Cultural and community highlights included guided tours of St.Gallen and the HSG campus, a group evening at the Three Ponds, the Summer School Alumni Dinner at Fischers Fritz in Zurich, and an excursion to the Rhine Falls followed by a farewell dinner overlooking the Rhine. Together, these experiences strengthened cross-cultural exchange and welcomed the 2026 cohort into the international Summer School alumni network.
