In February 2025, Research Associate Stefan Ott and Professor Dr. Matthias Tietz represented the University of St.Gallen and the St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia (SGI) at the Australasian Consortium for Entrepreneurship Research Excellence (ACERE) Conference in Melbourne. Stefan Ott presented his first academic paper on entrepreneurial decision-making, contributing to discussions on heuristics, uncertainty, and circular economy strategies in entrepreneurship.
Stefan Ott further participated in the Doctoral Consortium, benefiting from keynotes and mentoring by senior scholars, including the leading entrepreneurship scholar worldwide, Dean Shepherd. The conference provided valuable opportunities for academic exchange, allowing for discussions on emerging research trends and methodologies in entrepreneurship.
Beyond presenting research, the conference was also an opportunity to further strengthen SGI’s presence in Asia and expand networks with colleagues at the Nanyang Technology University of Singapore and universities across Australia. ACERE 2025 facilitated meaningful collaborations and reinforced HSG’s engagement in the global entrepreneurship research community.
