Asia Compact: Private Equity

The 12th edition of the course “Asia Compact: Private Equity” took place in Singapore from 1-5 April 2024, continuing its tradition of excellence in providing a comprehensive exploration of the private equity industry in Asia. Led by Prof. Dr. Stefan Morkoetter, the course once again welcomed students from the Masters of Banking and Finance (MBF) programme at the St. Gallen Institute of Management in Asia.

The finance students embarked on a transformative journey, immersing themselves in the dynamic landscape of private equity. The curriculum featured in-depth discussions on valuation techniques, deal structures, and emerging trends within the industry. Through engaging presentations, guest lectures, and company visits, the students gained invaluable knowledge and practical insights. Distinguished guest speakers shared their expertise, enriching the learning experience and providing real-world perspectives. A highlight of the program was the immersive company visit to Partners Group, where students had the opportunity to witness firsthand the application of theoretical concepts in actual business settings and see how a leading private market platform operates, deepening their understanding of private equity practices.

Beyond the classroom, various social activities fostered camaraderie and cultural exchange. A visit to the Singapore City Gallery offered insights into the city's development trajectory, while a mid-week BBQ at East Coast Park provided a relaxed setting for students to unwind and bond.  The week concluded with a memorable farewell dinner at a traditional Chinese restaurant. The 12th edition of Asia Compact Private Equity in Singapore not only equipped students with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of the private equity landscape but also fostered a sense of community and enabled exchange with leading industry practitioners in Asia.
