Research The SGI conducts research, offers educational activities (teaching), and provides services. These three directions of academia are evidently interrelated. Research influences the content of educational programs, and enriches our service offerings. Thus, the SGI considers research being of key importance. The SGI focuses on four core areas of research Business Innovation Intercultural Competence Service Excellence Wealth Management Centres of Competency Research in the core areas is organized in centres of competency. The members of the centres of competency are permanent researchers employed at the St.Gallen Institute, affiliated researchers, and visiting faculty from the University of St.Gallen. Since the SGI shares research in the open academic world, scholars around the world are related with the faculty and affiliated researchers. The international exchange of ideas and of research results is achieved via conferences and publications.
