More than 35 MBA students from the University of St.Gallen exchanged their classroom at the Rosenberg in St.Gallen with skyscrapers in Singapore and spent the week from 28 March until 1 April 2016 on a business study mission to explore Southeast Asia.
Organized by Prof. Dr. Stefan Morkoetter and the SGI team, the business study mission offered MBA students the opportunity to extend their knowledge about the Asian business context and to develop specific strategies to successfully compete in Southeast Asia.
A highlight for the students was extensive interaction with local business representatives and guest lecturers in order to grasp the speed and dynamics in a local context. Company visits completed an exciting week with numerous exclusive insights bringing the students not only to Singapore: Part of the class was also a one-day-trip to Iskandar, a major industry development zone in Johor (Malaysia). During a company visit the student group had the opportunity to learn more about the complex processes underlying a modern production facility and were very impressed by the advancing levels of automatization.
