HSG Executive MBA in Business Engineering visits Singapore In the fall semester of 2019 (9 to 13 September), the St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia hosted a group of students from the HSG EMBA in Business Engineering programme. This dynamic module provided students with an overview of the business and economic context in Singapore and Southeast Asia through the lens of innovation. In addition to examining Singapore’s economic development model and how it changed over the years, HSG EMBA students also learned about the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem that promotes a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Students had an opportunity to learn more about how Singapore is preparing for the 4th industrial revolution with its Smart Nation initiative that harnesses the power of big data analytics and the internet of things. The city‑state is also at the cutting‑edge of autonomous vehicle technology and sustainable urban development. HSG EMBA students in Business Engineering visited the leading company in the field of autonomous driving technology (nuTonomy) where they discussed this state-of-the-art technology with the company’s COO. In their session with Mr. Chor Pharn Lee, Principal Strategist at the Centre for Strategic Futures (think tank within Prime Minister’s Office), students learned about some massive mega trends that will be shaping our world in the near future.
