HSG Executive Diploma Programme in Insurance Management - Excursion module in Singapore To challenge and expand the ‘mental framework’ of its participants, the HSG Executive Diploma Programme in Insurance Management offers an excursion to a foreign insurance market. Guided by the motto ‘Shift to Asia’, the excursion module has been held in Singapore for the past six years. After the huge success of the previous trips to the Lion City, it was an easy decision to return again with this year’s edition of the Programme. Together with Prof. Dr. Martin Eling and Dr. Marco Allenspach, this year’s bumper crop of 32 insurance executives visited several financial service companies in Singapore as well as the Future Cities Laboratory of ETH, the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Singapore City Gallery. The preparation of the excursion was once again actively supported by the SGI, which also provided two highlights of the programme. Right at the beginning of the excursion, Dr. Christine Scheef introduced the participants to the cultural and political context of this fascinating region and Prof. Dr. Stefan Morkoetter personally welcomed the group at the SGI and explained the positioning of HSG in Asia. The discussions and the exchange of experiences provided once more a deep insight into the main challenges of the Asian market and left a huge variety of impressions on the participants. It was once more a diverse and exciting week, and the group will be back next year.
