Despite his full schedule during his visit to Switzerland and the St.Gallen Symposium, where he spoke about preparing citizens for future challenges (Youtube), he took the time to meet with a group of students to share his thoughts and learn from them on their experiences gained throughout their exchange terms both in Singapore and Switzerland. The students are currently studying at the University of St.Gallen, either on exchange from Singapore or as full-time St.Gallen students, who have been to Singapore as part of the HSG Asia Term. The Deputy Prime Minister was very interested to hear how the Singaporean students experience Switzerland and what impression of Singapore the students from Switzerland took home with them. He didn’t hesitate to share his personal story and opinions, giving the students an unique opportunity to not only understand the reasoning behind Singapore’s development and future policies better, but also getting a glimpse on the personal thoughts of a leading politician.
