Asia Term Social Project 2017 During the Asia Term, our students also embarked on a social project to give back to the Singaporean society. This year, the students engaged in a cultural exchange with seniors from the NTUC Health Silver ACE at Bukit Merah. Facilitated by True Origins, the seniors and students shared some of their favorite Singaporean and Swiss dishes and learnt how to make those dishes from each other. While the Asia Term students learnt to make pineapple tarts, mooncakes and murukku from Singaporean aunties, the seniors enjoyed Birchermuesli and Swiss chocolate and fondue. The students also shared more about the Swiss culture with the seniors who have never been to Switzerland. It was three joyful afternoons, full of interaction and laughter. Through the project, the Asia Term students discovered a different and often hidden side of Singapore and met some Singaporeans from the pioneer generation. The experience also showed them that through their deeds and words, no matter how small, they were able to bring joy and meaning to the lives of elderly Singaporeans.
