This year, 45 students from the University of St.Gallen, are participating in the programme, most majoring in Business Administration. The students will stay for four months from August to December in Singapore and study one exchange semester at our partner university, the Singapore Management University.
To kick-off this year’s Asia Term, Prof. Dr. Stefan Morkötter and Dr. Christine Scheef welcomed the students in Singapore and discussed with them the economic development of the city-state. The students were also given a tour of the Singapore City Gallery, where they received an overview of the past and future developments of Singapore. From 16 to 18 August 2017, the students completed the course ‘Business Development in Asia’ taught by Prof. Dr. Michael Hilb. It was their first course of the semester, where they were introduced to the diverse business systems in Asia and gained some initial insights into the Asian business environment and the development of different industry sectors in the region.
