Asia Compact: Private Equity in Emerging Markets In early April, the St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia (SGI-HSG) welcomed more than 20 HSG students enrolled in the University of St.Gallen's Master of Banking and Finance Program for the lecture – “Asia Compact: Private Equity in Emerging Markets”. Taught by Prof. Dr. Stefan Morkoetter, it was generously supported by consulting firm zeb with a study grant. The lecture provided students with an overview of Private Equity and discussed in detail the asset class’s exposure to Southeast Asia. The course combined in-class teaching with a study mission character allowing students to interact with local companies and practitioners. Numerous industry experts (e.g. from Worldbank, Crédit Agricole, LGT and Partners Group) joined the class and shared their insights with the students. This integrated lecture style was particularly appreciated by participants as theory became tangible immediately after the teaching sessions. During their two weeks in Singapore, the students also had the opportunity to explore the city and its multicultural society.
