47th St. Gallen Symposium From 3 to 5 May 2017, about 40 participants from Singapore participated in the 47th St.Gallen Symposium held at the premises of the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. The Symposium topic, “The dilemma of disruption”, attracted many brilliant thinkers, strategists and entrepreneurs across a wide variety of disciplines and industries, with a strong focus on harnessing technology for innovation. Prominent speakers and participants from the Singapore delegation included Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education and Second Minister for the Ministry of Defence, Beh Swan Gin, Chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board, Neal Cross, Managing Director and Chief Innovation Officer of DBS Bank, Warren Fernandez, Editor-in-Chief of Singapore Press Holdings, Viswa Sadasivan, CEO of Strategic Moves, and Goh Swee Chen, Country Head of Singapore Unit at Royal Dutch Shell. The St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia was proud to host four members of the International Students’ Committee in our Singapore offices from October 2016 to March 2017. Anastasija Bosshard, Johannes Kempf, Lasse Balster and Marc Hew were responsible for promoting the Symposium in Singapore and other countries in Asia. Alexander Melchers, ISC Special Advisor and President of the HSG Alumni Singapore, facilitated the coordination of the Symposium in Singapore.
